The Green Awareness Taskforce is composed of the following committees:
Community, Communications, Media
Direct inquires, suggestions, questions or concerns to appropriate person, group, organization, business, government agency or web-site. Create and maintain a master calendar of pledged events by county, city, civic groups, organizations businesses and schools. Keep local newspapers, radio, TV informed with press releases. Spotlight local businesses.
Education/Seminars, Expos/Workshops
Plan and Schedule seminars for chamber members and the public to promote “Green Awareness.” Promote local & regional events coming to members & community.
Government
Keeping the Green task force, chamber members and public informed on Federal,State, County, Municipal and Military on Green Awareness Initiatives & Program
Green Building
Provide information for chamber members & public about Green Building initiatives
Hospitality
Ensure all lodging facilities that belong to the FWB Chamber or in Okaloosa County receive information about the DEP’s Green Lodging Program. Suggest and create ECO Tourism ideas to local businesses in the Travel and Tourism Industry
Products & Services
Approve eligible “Green” products and services to be added to Green webpage
Schools & Colleges
Keep all schools in Okaloosa County engaged in Green Awareness
Utilities
Provide Energy Conservation Tips, Programs and Initiatives to Chamber members and public
Volunteers
Recruit, educate and schedule volunteers to oversee recycling events to prevent contamination of recyclables.
